Today I wanna talk about those pearly whites! To be honest with you, my pearly whites haven’t been so bright lately. Seeing all the t.v. advertisements for teeth whitening are tempting but I rather do it the natural, safe way. Teeth whitening can be expensive, cause sensitivity and brittle teeth. I prefer NOT!
To fix my dull smile I started making my own toothpaste, main ingredients are charcoal and coconut oil. Charcoal is very known for whitening teeth, preventing decay and bad breath. Coconut oil is known for fighting bacteria, preventing teeth from rotting and cures cavities! For a refreshing smell I add eucalyptus oil which is known for handling plaque. So whenever your smile seems a little dull I recommend making your own toothpaste.
Oil pulling with coconut oil is very beneficial and can be substituted as a mouth wash. Swishing a tablespoon of coconut oil for 20 mins will help get rid of plaque, fight bacteria, prevent/cure cavities and whiten your teeth! Brushing your teeth with coconut oil and peppermint oil would be just as beneficial if you prefer not to swish for 20 mins. These methods are way safer, a lot of toothpastes and mouth washes on the market have fluoride in them which effects the pineal gland. So lets brighten that smile the healthy way, I hope I’ve been helpful. Check back later for more health tips!
First things first, If you wanna grow long, strong nails you must take care of them! In other words, groom them if you want them to bloom. It’s important to keep your nails/cuticles moisturized to keep them strong which stops breakage from happening, as well as keeping the cuticles from peeling. I do this by applying coconut oil on my cuticles/nails. It’s important that your cuticles are hydrated because the cuticles are what gives your nails the nutrients/protection it needs to grow, so avoid cutting away your cuticles. They play a major role in healthy nail growth!
Another thing is soap, try to stay away from toxic soaps for hand washing/washing dishes. Most soaps dry out your nails and weakens them, which of course means breakage! Filing is also a main key for nail growth. “But how?” you may ask (like with hair growth, trimming stops split ends from splitting all the way up the hair shaft). Nail filing fixes the problem of snagging nails and stops the whole nail from tearing.
By doing all of this, I’ve noticed that my nails definitely grow at a faster rate and I’m loving it because every girl loves long nails of course! While keeping my nails/cuticles moisturized with coconut oil, I’ve also noticed that my nails don’t peel as much. That’s something that I really like to acknowledge because I hate when my hair gets caught in a peeling/snagging nail (which is something I mentioned in a previous post)! So lets go groom those claws, Beauties! I hope I’ve been helpful, please check back later for more nail tips.
Hello and Welcome back!
How many of you skip out on moisturizing your face/skin after a shower? Hopefully not many because moisturizing the skin is just as important as cleansing it! Moisturizing keeps the skin from getting dehydrated, makes you glow and closes the pores to keep dirt out! Even in the Summer, it’s incredibly important to moisturize. Finding the right moisturizer was the most challenging for me, being as though I have insanely oily skin.
After doing research, I found that the use of argan oil on my face works best for my skin! If you’re worried about if argan oil will make your face greasy then think again! It’s so amazing that it was even great for helping clear up my acne! Not only that, it’s natural, vanishes dark spots and decreases chances of wrinkles. It’s important to check out how heavy or light oils are (depending on if you have oily skin, combination skin or dry skin.) Once you start moisturizing you’ll start to experience a softer, clearer, brighter face!
Ashy knees can be embarrassing. Lotions don’t last, so you find yourself moisturizing throughout the day. Which can be so annoying! I love using coconut oil on my skin after a shower for that reason. It hydrates my skin, keeping me moisturized all day! Not to mention it smells amazing, makes your skin glow and feel so smooth! Which do you prefer? Lotion or oil? Comment below.
Chapped lips can be one of the most annoying things you could experience. No matter how many times you may lick your lips and or how much water you drink, your lips are still dry! If you’re experiencing this problem, I have a solution for you! I love to use coconut oil on my lips. Whenever I feel my lips getting dry I apply coconut oil and my lips instantly feel softer!
Some ingredients in chap sticks make your lips worse causing dryness, so you’re only wasting your money! Lip scrubs are also very effective for dry lips. The most known DIY lip scrub is honey and sugar. Mix honey and sugar together in a small container to store it in, make sure to add enough sugar to exfoliate your lips! My favorite ingredients to use in my lip scrub potion are honey, coconut oil, sugar and peppermint oil. I use one tablespoon of honey, one tablespoon of sugar, a pinch of coconut oil and a drop or two of peppermint oil (make sure to store it away in the refrigerator to keep it fresh).
So pucker up beauties! I hope I’ve been helpful. If you have any questions please feel free to contact me! Come check back later for daily tips.
