Benefits of black seed

Hello Beauties, welcome back!

This year I have been doing a lot of research on inflammation because this is one problem I struggle with (I’ll get more into this in a future post). Turmeric, ginger and garlic are the few top herbs that help with inflammation. While doing research I came across black seed and as most of you may know black seed is amazing! It’s known to combat allergies, asthma, diabetes ect. I could ramble on all day about black seed but I’m going to stick to a few things that benefits me and those close to me.

Being as though that the body naturally has inflammation to protect you from unfamiliar substances, black seed helps stabilize healthy and uncommon inflammation in the body. If you want to lessen your chances of cancer then I’d say make black seed your go to! Black seed contains a compound named thymoquinone that ceases inflammation and tumor growth. (Speaking of thymoquinone, it’s also great for men infertility boosting sperm count!)

Diabetes is one of America’s top diseases, diabetes is a result of high blood glucose. Black seed tweaks glucose tolerance, strengthening insulin production and beta cell proliferation. It also betters blood sugar and cholesterol and minimizes damage to beta cells. Going hand in hand it can also help lower high blood pressure by taking small amounts at least twice daily.

Experiencing hair and skin problems? Worry no more! Black seed is greatly known to promote hair growth by sustaining a healthy scalp by fighting dandruff and clogged hair follicles/ pores. It’s a natural conditioner for both hair and skin, battling acne, psoriasis and saves the hair from damage. One of the best things about black seed is that you can get it in many different forms. Benefits of Sea Moss

Hi and Welcome back, Beauties!

As I’ve stated in my previous post, it is now officially Winter (not my favorite season)! It’s now the end of the year and of course as the seasons change, we change too! So it’s important to cleanse yourself of toxins or any build up when the season changes, to prevent you from getting the common cold or flu. While on my fast a couple weeks ago, instead of just drinking water and tea, this time I decided to make fruit smoothies with sea moss aka Irish moss. As some of you may know, sea moss has a collective of 92 of 102 minerals that the body is made up of!

So of course, this stuff is amazing! To prepare my sea moss, I Clean it, let it soak for a day then boil it until it becomes a gel and I store it in the fridge. I usually use 5 tablespoons while incorporating it into my smoothies and although sea moss isn’t so tasty, you can barely taste it when it’s mixed into plant based milk, a smoothie or whatever you choose! One thing I realized while having sea moss on my fast was that it gave me a boost of energy! Any time I started to feel weak, I would blend up some fruit along with my sea moss and within minutes I was revived!

Sea moss is known for boosting energy, curing anemia, bettering your skin, helps with digestion problems as well as improving your mental and ect. I could go on and on with the benefits of sea moss, but I rather stick with telling you how it helped benefit me! For as long as I can remember, I always struggled to keep my body warm, now trying sea moss I can see how much warmer my body has become. I’ve also noticed how my skin has become much clearer and I feel like my face has more of a glow to it now. I have had acne problems since I hit puberty and I’m telling you, I’m loving my skin now!

So if you’re having any skin problems such as rashes, acne, eczema and or psoriasis, sea moss is the answer for you! Another problem I’ve been experiencing for a long time before converting to being vegan and fasting is constipation! And as you can imagine, constipation sucks! Constipation leaves you feeling bloated, full or causes stomach pain. Worry no more! Sea moss will definitely help aid with digestion, just changing your diet can also help!

Lastly, because of all the bad foods we put into our bodies, it has our mental out of wack! It definitely helps me to think clearer and tames my anxiety as well as it brings my stress levels down! As you all should know, stress is very dangerous to your health, so sea moss would definitely help in this area! Chapped lips, Part 2

Hi Beauties!

I have missed you so much! I have been enjoying life, taking time to myself and just learning more and more each day! As you know, it is now Winter (not my favorite season)! Being as though that it is now Winter the air is now cold and DRY and being that the air is dry this may cause dry skin, brittle hair and of course CHAPPED LIPS! I previously talked about chapped lips briefly, today I wanna get a little more into this topic.

We often try to treat our lips way after they have gotten chapped. They start off dry, then we lick. Then we lick, lick, lick, again and again. Then they start to get chapped and we try to use lip balm, at this point forget about it, it’s already way too late and our lips start to crack! Going through this cycle repeatedly your lips may become discolored from lack of moisture. (discoloration can also come from smoking, dehydration even applying lipstick can discolor your lips) which is why it’s so important that we try to keep our lips moist before they get dry and of course always make sure you stay hydrated!

Discoloration in the lips can be embarrassing and you might find yourself trying to cover it up with lipstick (and we all know that most lipsticks are toxic). Well, hide no more, Beauty! I have a solution for you! My lips had gotten really discolored, as you can see in the picture above on the left. I started dabbing apple cider vinegar on my lips with a cotton ball each time before I applied my lip scrub (lip scrub coming soon). Within two weeks my lips were revived of its color and were as plump as ever (as pictured above on the right)!

Apple cider vinegar is well known for it’s magical toning properties, so usually when I see discoloration on my skin, apple cider vinegar is my go to! Having a teaspoon of apple cider vinegar in your tea can be very beneficial not only for your skin but for your health overall. It flushes the toxins out of your body, leading you to optimal health! How to do a hot oil treatment

Hello Beauties!

On my hair page I previously talked about the benefits of hot oil treatments. This treatment is done prior to you washing your hair, so that your hair won’t be stripped of it’s natural oils. Hot oil treatments help strengthen the hair as well as it moisturizes and adds shine. If you suffer from dry scalp/dandruff doing this treatment will help with this issue. As well as it promotes hair growth by increasing blood circulation and preventing split ends.

Menstrual Cramps

Hello Queen!

Women get shamed for talking about their period in public, but why? Your menstrual cycle is what gives you your crown to womanhood, so wear that crown proudly! Being on your period can really suck if you suffer from cramps, I have endometriosis so cramps can definitely be something fierce! After trying home remedies I was able to tame my cramps and I would like to share some of those remedies with you! Keep in mind, some things don’t work for everyone.

1. Heat – When I’m on my period my go to is my heating pad, the heat lessens pain by moderating muscles that are contacting. After leaving the heating pad on my lower abdomen for just 10-15 minutes my cramps start to reduce!

2. Pressure & Essential oils – Another thing I like to do to soothe my cramps is to apply pressure and essential oils on my uterus area. Applying pressure and lavender oil helps to calm the pain, being as though lavender is known for it’s calming effect (be sure to use lavender topically).

3. Tea – Drinking peppermint tea can also calm menstrual cramps, like lavender it’s known for it’s calming effect!

4. Organic Pads – One major thing I did that has helped lessen my cramps was switching to organic tampons! Although putting anything up there isn’t advised because of toxic shock syndrome, it’s definitely way healthier than regular advertised tampons. Most tampons on the shelves have chlorine and other toxic chemicals which cause period cramps to worsen! So to be all the way on the safe side, I recommend using organic pads.

5. Healthy Diet – As I’ve said throughout many of my other topics, a healthy diet is key! If you take care of your body, your body will most definitely take care of you. Cutting out fatty foods will cut down inflammation which is the cause of period cramps.

GMO vs Organic

Most of us don’t think into the foods we put into our bodies on the regular basis. We wonder why we have simple but yet bothersome problems such as constipation, loss of remembrance or insomnia. On that note, lets go over what GMO stands for. GMO stands for genetically modified organisms, which means they are created through technology. It’s not natural at all, so why do we eat it?

GMO’s are unhealthy they can cause long standing health problems. It can even cause harm to your organs and cause you to be over weight. Not to mention GMO’s need a substantial sum of pesticides and herbicides which are poison. Doesn’t sound okay for our health nor the atmosphere! Because GMO’s aren’t natural they don’t really give us the nutrients we need.

With more information getting out there on GMO’s people try to get organic foods, which is hard because GMO seeds travel and cross breed. Cross breeding develops new poison and irritants. Eating foods that could potentially cause autism should not even be on the market. Even though organic foods are harder to find, try to eat as organic as possible (organic meaning natural food found in nature). Natural foods are alkaline which helps the body care for and cure itself.

Eating organic leads you to optimal health preventing many, many diseases, giving you a longer life! You’ll realize that you have more energy and a more steady sleep pattern while eating natural foods. It’ll definitely help you get more in tune with yourself. Eating healthier can help with small but yet bothersome problems like eczema, acne and even weight challenges! So what are you eating tonight? GMO or organic?

Did you know that your body has it’s own clock? A lot of us don’t know this, which takes our whole system off track. When this happens you might experience bloating, constipation and stomach cramps. So today I want to talk about the patterns of eating. I’m going to explain what you should be eating at the proper times of the day.

Like with a car, you can’t put just any kind of gas or oil in it and expect it to function correctly. The same goes for our bodies, we have to watch what we put in it! Any time before noon you’re suppose to eat fruits and drink alkaline water such as shungite water or water with key lime and or tea. Doing this, your body is able to cleanse itself of waste, creating an alkaline environment. Following this diet you should experience a bowel movement every morning.

Starting at noon until around 3 pm you should eat vegetables. The vegetables will refresh your cells so that your body gets the minerals and nutrients it needs. This will help boost your energy for the day, no coffee needed! From around 3 pm to 8 pm you should eat more solid foods such as nuts, grains and seeds as the day dies down. You shouldn’t really eat after 8 pm because melatonin starts to kick in preparing your body for sleep mode.

Being on this diet on this clock will help your body get on its original pattern, leading you to optimal health. Eating in this pattern is known as “The Laws of Eating in Rhythm” or “Eating Clean While in Rhythm”, there is a whole lot of info about it all over the internet. Detoxing

Are you enjoying this beautiful Summer day?! Speaking of Summer, did you detox? As the seasons/weather changes it’s important that you cleanse yourself. Haven’t you noticed that when the season changes people get sick? Older people might call it “pneumonia weather.”

Lots of people don’t flush out all the toxins in their system which makes them sick. Detoxing when the seasons change develops immunity because you’re getting rid of all the build up. Detoxing your body is crucial for your well-being and curing of any health problems. As the world changes we need to change too being as though we are part of the universe. Doing this will help you get in tune with the seasons (nature).

Cleansing yourself renews the body and consciousness which rises your energy levels. It strengthens your system for brutal weather in the winter and fall, keeping you from catching the common cold or flu. My favorite way to cleanse myself is to go on a liquid fast for at least 7 days, drinking only water and tea.
