Benefits of Steaming

In my last post I talked about the benefits of exfoliating, in this post I wanna talk about the importance of facial steaming! Just like exfoliating, steaming cleanses your face and helps open up the pores, allowing masks and or moisturizers to penetrate into the skin, instead of just sitting on top. Doing this makes your skin more responsive to treatments. So if you’re acne prone, steaming your face at least 1-2 times a week is a must! Steaming boosts blood circulation, something which distributes oxygen and nourishment to your skin. This gives you a natural glow, helping you maintain a youthful appearance.

While you’re steaming you sweat, liberating toxins, something which stops future acne. Being as though that blackheads are tough to extract, steam softens up the skin, making it easier to eliminate them. Facial steaming is so relaxing, for me, it gives me a little time to meditate and you can never go wrong with that! An inexpensive way to do facial steaming is to use boiled water. Pour the boiled water into a small, heat resistant bowl and add a few drops of essential oil of your choice. Use a towel to cover your head, to trap the heat and sit for 5 mins.
