Let’s just say you got asked out on a date. Your hair is popping, skin glowing and that outfit you have on is gorg! While you’re at the dinner table you go to reach for the salt and BOOM! You realize your nails are something treacherous! Just makes you cringe doesn’t it? Well I’m here to help prevent that from happening.
We often over look our nails because we’re so focused on slaying our hair and having skin as soft as a baby’s bottom. Our nails need some loving too! “But what can I do besides get my nails done?” you may wonder. The same way we treat our hair with hair masks and our face with a face masks, why can’t we treat our nails with a nail mask? Nail masks are incredibly amazing, it brings my nails to life!
I love to make my personal nail mask with honey, coconut oil, tea tree oil and apple cider vinegar. The honey softens and hydrates the cuticles which is important because as I’ve mentioned in a previous post, the cuticles are what gives your nails the nutrients and protection it needs to grow. Coconut oil is what keeps your nails strong, stopping them from peeling and snagging. The tea tree oil can help you if you have discoloration and like coconut oil, it strengthens the nails. Apple cider vinegar will aid you in nail growth if you have brittle nails, helping them grow at a faster rate!
I typically mix all my ingredients together in a bowl and sit my fingers in the mixture for 10-15 mins before washing it off. Doing this consistently my nails have gotten a lot stronger and my cuticles have gotten so smooth. So the next time you’re treating your hair and or skin, don’t forget to treat your nails!
